NEW YORK, Feb. 5 -- New York Civil Liberties Union issued the following news release on Feb. 4, 2025:
Today, Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman announced that the county would partner with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to deputize certain local officers to carry out federal immigration enforcement activities, including arrest and detention.
