NEW YORK, Jan. 18 -- The Natural Resources Defense Council issued the following news release on Jan. 17, 2025:
Conservation groups reached an agreement today that will require the United States to stop importing seafood that does not meet U.S. standards for protecting marine mammals. The seafood ban will go into effect on January 1, 2026, and will protect numerous threatened species of whales, dolphins, seals, and other marine mammals from entanglement in fishing gear used in foreig . . .
