NEW YORK, Jan. 18 -- LatinoJustice PRLDEF issued the following news release on Jan. 17, 2025:
President Biden on Friday commuted the sentences of almost 2,500 people convicted of nonviolent drug offenses.
The following statement that can be attributed to Lourdes M. Rosado, President and General Counsel, LatinoJustice PRLDEF:
"President Biden's 11th hour commutation of these sentences should have been one of his first actions when he took office . . .
