SAVANNAH, Georgia, Jan. 9 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia issued the following news release on Jan. 8, 2025:

U.S. Attorney Jill E. Steinberg has announced her resignation from her presidentially appointed position in the Southern District of Georgia U.S. Attorney's Office, effective Friday, Jan. 17, 2025.

U.S. Attorney Steinberg served as the Chief Federal Law Enforcement Officer for the 43-county Southern District of Georgia . . .
