WASHINGTON, Oct. 1 -- The Council on American-Islamic Relations issued the following news release on Sept. 30, 2024:
The California chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-CA), the nation's largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today welcomed Governor Gavin Newsom's recent enactment of AB 3089 to formally apologize for the State of California's role in chattel slavery.
