SPRINGFIELD, Illinois, Sept. 20 -- The Illinois House Democrats issued the following news:
In recognition of Digital Connective and Lifeline Awareness Week, state Rep. Sue Scherer, D-Decatur, is encouraging local income-eligible residents to take advantage of discounted internet and phone services through the federal government's Lifeline Program.
"In our connected world, a cell phone and access to the internet are absolutely essential yet many of our citizens . . .
