ST. PAUL, Minnesota, Sept. 19 -- Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minnesota, issued the following proclamation:

WHEREAS: Native American elders hold a respected and cherished place in their communities as the keepers of tradition and cultural knowledge and connect younger generations to their culture, ceremonies, and traditional medicines; and
WHEREAS: Native American elders have lived rich lives filled with valuable lessons in traditional teachings that offer guidan . . .
