WASHINGTON, Aug. 29 -- The Environmental Protection Agency issued the following news release on Aug. 28, 2024:
NEW YORK - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is inviting public input on a proposed early cleanup action for the Newtown Creek Superfund Site, located in Brooklyn and Queens, New York City. This action focuses on the East Branch of Newtown Creek, a critical step in the larger, ongoing effort to clean up the entire site.
