ALEXANDRIA, Virginia, Aug. 9 -- The city of Alexandria issued the following news release on Aug. 8, 2024:
The Alexandria Police Department (APD) was awarded Advanced Law Enforcement Re-accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) on Saturday, July 27, marking 38 consecutive years the department has held this prestigious status.
