The funding was made available through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which Durbin and Duckworth supported
Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL), U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), and U.S. Representative Nikki Budzinski (D-IL-13) today announced that Sangamon Mass Transit District will receive $17,807,630 in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Transport . . .
