MONTGOMERY, Alabama, June 27 -- The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs issued the following news release:
Gov. Kay Ivey has awarded a grant of slightly more than $680,000 to replace the town of Cottonwood's fire station, which was destroyed by a tornado in January.
Leaders of the Houston County town applied for the Community Development Block Grant after a powerful and deadly EF-2 tornado destroyed several homes, businesses and government building . . .
