WASHINGTON, April 24 -- Rep. John P. Sarbanes, D-Maryland, issued the following news release:
Today, U.S. Congressman John Sarbanes (MD-03) released the following statement in observance of the 109th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide:
"On this day, we remember the 1.5 million innocent Armenians who, in 1915, were forced from their homes, marched to their deaths and massacred by Ottoman-era Turkish authorities. We honor the memory of those who perished in the Arm . . .
