ROCK HILL, South Carolina, April 24 -- Winthrop University issued the following news:
The Winthrop University men's golf team captured the program's first Big South Conference Championship on Sunday, April 21, by defeating Gardner-Webb to earn the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Regionals.
Head Coach Kevin Pendley '98 became the first former Big South individual champion (1997, 1998) to win a team championship as a head coach.
