OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma, April 23 -- The Oklahoma State Senate issued the following news release:
Legislation creating the "Oklahoma Standby Guardianship Act" has been signed into law. Senate Bill 1701, by Sen. Michael Brooks, D-Oklahoma City, and Rep. Chris Kannady, R-Oklahoma City, creates a legal framework so that parents can designate a "standby" guardian under certain circumstances.
