WASHINGTON, April 12 -- Rep. Doug LaMalfa, R-California, issued the following news release:

Today, Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) voted to require the federal government to obtain a warrant to review any records of Americans that are collected or for sale by third parties. The amendment failed after a tie vote of 212-212. Without a warrant requirement for accessing any American's record, Congressman LaMalfa opposed reauthorizing the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. . . .
