BILLINGS, Montana, Feb. 1 -- The U.S. Attorney for the District of Montana, Leif M. Johnson, issued the following news release on Jan. 31, 2022:
Signal Peak Energy LLC, which admitted to willful violation of health and safety standards at its underground coal mine near Roundup by failing to report injuries to workers and improperly disposing mine waste, was sentenced today to pay a $1 million criminal fine and to three years of probation, U.S. Attorney Leif M. Johnson said.
