WASHINGTON, Jan. 29 -- Rep. Diana DeGette, D-Colorado, chair of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, issued the following opening statement as part of a Jan. 20, 2022, hybrid hearing entitled "Cleaning Up Cryptocurrency: The Energy Impacts of Blockchains":
