WASHINGTON, Dec. 23 -- The Naval Sea Systems Command issued the following news:
GROTON, Conn. The U.S. Navy Submarine Force's newest attack submarine, the future USS Iowa (SSN 797) was delivered to the Navy on Dec. 22, 2024, marking the 12th battle force ship delivered to the Navy this calendar year.

Va. U.S. Attorney: Former Federal Bureau of Prisons Employees Convicted of Charges Arising From Their Failure to Obtain Medical Care for Inmate Who Later Died From His Injuries
RICHMOND, Virginia, Dec. 25 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia issued the following news release:
A Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) lieutenant was found guilty on Dec. 21 of violating the civil rights of an inmate by showing deliberate indifference to the inmate's serious medical needs. The lieutenant and an FBOP nurse were also found guilty of making false statements to a federal agent with the intent to obstruct the investigation into the inmate's death.
