NEW HAVEN, Connecticut, May 25 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut issued the following news release on May 24, 2024:
JAUWAN EDWARDS, also known as "Yaya," 26, of Bridgeport, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Kari A. Dooley in Bridgeport to 78 months of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release, for his involvement in a violent Bridgeport street gang.

Consuming raw cow's milk that contains H5N1 avian influenza virus poses an infection risk, but a laboratory process that simulates high-temperature pasteurization reduces the virus in infected milk by more than 99.99%.
